•  ACT Test
    ACT - The most widely used college entrance exam.  The ACT consists of four multiple-choice tests that cover four skill areas: English, math, reading, and science.  The Writing Test, which is optional, measures skills in planning and writing a short essay.  Some colleges require the Writing Test. Check with your colleges of interest to see if the Writing Test is required.  Registration materials may be picked up in the Counseling Office or apply online at http://www.actstudent.org.  AHS school code number is 480-040.

    ACT Prep

    There are several free resources students can use to prepare for the ACT test.  Students can pick up a free ACT prep booklet in the AHS Counseling Office.  Some free online ACT prep resources can be found at:



    Fee Waivers are available for students who may have difficulty covering the cost of an exam.  Please see your counselor for information if you may need a fee waiver.

    Accommodations are available for students with a documented disability.  Please see your counselor for information about accommodations available and how to register to take an exam with accommodations.
