• SAT Test

SAT- The SAT consists of three tests that measure critical reading, mathematical reasoning, and writing skills.  If a student elects to take the SAT as the standardized test for college admission, he/she should take this test in the Spring of his/her junior year of high school.  Registration materials may be picked up in the Counseling Office or register online at http://www.collegeboard.orgAHS school code number is 480-040.

SAT II (Subject Tests): These are one-hour exams in 18 areas such as writing, mathematics, sciences, world languages and history.  Students select the exams they take.  Some colleges require a student to take SAT subject tests.

Some colleges may prefer the SAT or a combination of the SAT and SAT II or ACT and SAT II tests. Students are responsible for checking individual school admissions requirements. If students are unsure of the required test for their selected college, they should discuss this with their Counselor or check the specific website of the college/university in question to see what test(s) is required.
