FAFSA

Free Application for Federal Student Aid

FAFSA - https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa - The Federal Student Aid provides grants, loans, and work-study funds for college. The application is FREE to submit. The FAFSA can be completed anytime after October 1st.

Step to complete your FAFSA:
  • Students & parents need to register for a FSA ID at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa click on the Start Here link on the home page. Use the following form when creating your FSA ID: FSA ID Worksheet. The FSA ID gives you access to the Federal Student Aid's online systems and serves as you legal signature.
  • Submit your FAFSA form online at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa. KEEP COPIES OF ALL FORMS YOU SUBMIT.
  • Watch for your Student Aid Report (SAR) in the mail or email. This form will provide you with your EFC (Expected Family Contribution) and with information about your eligibility for federal grants (free $).
  • Compare the financial aid awards you receive from each school.
