Planning for retirement is one of the most important things you can do for yourself and your family and the earlier you begin, the more successful your retirement will be. Per RCW 41.05.011, all School District employees are eligible to apply for PEBB Retiree Insurance Coverage.
 
 
 
Important Requirements to Remember:
 
For more information on enrolling in PEBB Retiree Coverage,please refer to the booklet for more information. Keep in mind you only have 60 days after the date your Employer Coverage or COBRA Coverage ends to enroll in or postpone PEBB retiree coverage. If you don’t complete and submit he RETIREECOVERAGE ELECTION FORM within the required timeframe, you could lose your rightto enroll.


PEBB has developed a checklist to help employees who are contemplating resignation or retirement to successfully apply for and receive this valuable benefit. There are strict requirements in the application process including that an employee must apply for PEBB retiree insurance coverage within 60 days of the loss of their employer paid insurance or COBRA insurance.

DRS Benefit Estimators
  • Online Benefit Estimator: Use the DRS online account service to create benefit estimates based on your actual member data. Just sign in or register as a new user.
  • Self Estimate Worksheets: If you prefer to perform your own calculation, benefit estimate worksheets are available for all the systems and plans. These worksheets assist you in approximating your future retirement benefit. The estimate is based on information you supply and not on confirmed data.
